Production Control AssistantThe Production Control Assistant is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of production orders within our composites manufacturing operation. Assisting Planning in connecting with sales, engineering, production, and materials teams — ensuring that manufacturing orders (MOs) are created accurately, tracked through every stage of production, and closed out (transacted) correctly in our ERP/MRP system.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Order Creation:Create manufacturing orders (work orders/travelers) in the ERP/MRP system based on sales orders, forecasts, or engineering releasesPrint manufacturing orders (MO) and production travelers as scheduledVerify bill of materials (BOM), routings, and revision levels are current before order releaseConfirm material availability and flag shortages to Materials/PurchasingKit, issue and deliver components and parts directly to departmental manufacturing ordersValidate released documentation is correct and included with each work orderSupport order priorities and due dates in line with the master production scheduleOrder Monitoring:Track manufacturing orders through each stage (layup, trim, assembly, paint/finish, inspection, packaging)Monitor work-in-process (WIP) against schedule, assisting to identify and escalate delaysMaintain accurate status updates in the ERP system and shop floor tracking toolsProvide regular status reports to Planning and ProductionOrder Transacting / Closeout:Process labor and material against orders (issues, receipts, backflushing) as work is completedReconcile actual material and labor consumption against standards; investigate and resolve variancesProcess and route approved QA components to the next production or shipping stageClose completed orders in the ERP system, ensuring accurate inventorySupport month-end/quarter-end WIP reconciliation and inventory countsAdditional Responsibilities:Create Packing Slip and Certificate of Conformance paperwork in ERP system ensuring alignment of corresponding customer PO lines to Packing Slip linesAssist with local part deliveriesForklift operation, after internal trainingAssist Inventory Team with scheduled cycle countsAssist Shipping/Receiving Team, when necessaryAbility to respond and react to pull stock signal systemContinuous improvement efforts for Planning and Production processesMinimum QualificationsHigh level of computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systemsProficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including sorting/filtering, basic formulas and working with production or inventory dataStrong data entry accuracyBasic understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control or production planning preferredExperience with ERP/MRP systems preferredClear written and verbal communication across cross-functional teamsHighly organized with good attention to detailStrong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and research data to resolve themAbility to anticipate and solve practical problemsDemonstrated reliability and follow-throughTeam orientated, with a positive attitudeValid driver's license
